Psychiatrist
Dr. Comeau is a psychiatrist who completed his Medical Degree at the University of Alberta and graduated from the Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of British Columbia. He is a fully accredited rTMS provider through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC and completed his rTMS certification and training through Duke University.
In addition to specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, his clinical expertise also includes working with individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness, shared-care for young adults and group psychotherapy.
Dr. Comeau is passionate about helping his patients restore balance in their lives through his patient-centered approach and developing treatment plans tailored to an individuals circumstances and unique needs.
Dr. Comeau founded Reconnect Mental Health & Wellness out of his passion for group therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation and improving access to evidence-based treatments to those who fail or don’t respond to conventional treatment.
rTMS Technician
Hedwig Kos, originally from the small town of Old-Beijerland in the Netherlands, has a long-standing passion for holistic healthcare and the connection between mind, body, and soul. She earned her certificate in Reflexology in 2006 after completing a four-year academic course in the Netherlands. In 2007, Hedwig became a certified stress counsellor, further expanding her expertise in mental well-being.
Hedwig moved to Canada in 2008, and in 2024, she joined Reconnect Mental Health as an rTMS Technician. She plays a crucial role in patient care, working closely with Dr. Comeau to ensure patients receive comprehensive and compassionate treatment. Hedwig is deeply committed to getting to know each patient, guiding them through their rTMS treatments, and providing a supportive and comforting experience throughout their journey.
Outside of work, Hedwig enjoys reading, gardening, attending spin classes, walking, hiking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her holistic approach to mental health care is grounded in her belief in the powerful connection between mind, body, and spirit.
Clinic Manager
Barb is the Clinic Manager at Reconnect Mental Health, where she works closely with the medical team to guide patients through their treatment journeys, ensuring they feel heard and supported. With nearly two years of experience at the clinic, Barb is dedicated to providing compassionate care in a safe and efficient environment.
With a background in safety and a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification, Barb brings a strong focus on safety and organization to her role. Her 14 years of experience with the Canadian Armed Forces, combined with personal family experience of two tours in Afghanistan, provide her with a unique understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and their families.
In addition to her work at Reconnect Mental Health, Barb is the founder of Breathe. Grow., a brand focused on breath-work awareness for youth. She believes breath-work is a valuable tool for emotional well-being and personal growth.

Receptionist
Tanya is the first face you'll encounter when you walk through the doors of Reconnect Mental Health. As a warm and welcoming presence, she plays a crucial role in assisting with appointments and ensuring smooth communication with other medical professionals within the community. With over six years of experience in the medical office world, Tanya joined Reconnect in 2023 and has become a key part of the team.
Before joining Reconnect, Tanya owned and operated her family’s local business in Medicine Hat for over 20 years, and her dedication to helping others has always been at the core of her work. She brings her incredible kindness, compassion, and attention to detail to every interaction, ensuring that both patients and staff feel valued and supported.
When she’s not at the office, Tanya enjoys spending time at her family’s farm and their lake house, embracing the peace and tranquility that nature offers. She’s also an avid hiker and enjoys taking her dogs on outdoor adventures, believing that spending time outdoors has a huge positive impact on mental health.
Tanya is an essential part of the Reconnect team, and her kindness and commitment to the well-being of others shine through in everything she does.
